Our story began four decades ago when our founder, M. Jawaid Anjum, transformed a small family shop into a bladesmithing unit that supplied to Defense Contractors and Importers across the United States.
Through relentless discipline and an obsession with doing things right the first time, he built a strong foundation from scratch and carved a place for himself in an industry that rarely welcomes newcomers.
The road wasn’t simple, and he was casted out of the very legacy he helped create. Unwaveringly he did what he knew best. He rebuilt.
That resilience led to a new partnership that thrived for more than two decades, bringing growth, production scale, and global reach.
The partnership ultimately ended when we recognized that our standards for quality, ethics, and long-term vision no longer aligned with the other party. Walking away from misaligned values allowed us to rebuild with clarity, integrity, and purpose.
With renewed focus, technical education, and a commitment to accuracy, the company restructured itself into a craftsmen-driven reenactment gear and historical weaponry unit serving collectors, the HEMA community, museums, and enthusiasts worldwide.
Guided by the research of R. E. Oakeshott, Jan Petersen, and other historians who shaped modern understanding of sword typology and blade geometry. Today, our production unit carries a generational heartbeat. Each hammer strike reflects the founder’s grit, and each new process reflects our mission to upgrade the forge with correct terminology, proper methodology, and global standards. We are now on the verge of our third manufacturing unit, growth built not on shortcuts, but on precision and accountability.
Doon Handicrafts stands for quality, precision, craftsmanship, and authenticity.
We don’t imitate the past we study it, respect it, and forge it with honesty.
As we step deeper into the 21st century, our aim is simple:
Build better. Scale smarter. Innovate without losing our soul.
